Toy trains your thing?

visit Miniature World

Then it’s worth a trip to Hamburg to visit Miniature World, the world’s largest model train setup. In an area of over 1,150 m², the Miniatur Wunderland replicates villages from the coast to the mountains, from Scandinavia to the USA. A replica of Hamburg’s airport has been added recently and is already one of the most popular areas.  Watch planes arriving and taking off, tracked by an arrivals/departure board just like the ones in an airport. From time to time the lights fade and you see the world at night, with its trains and tunnels all lit up. All it lacks is the world’s biggest Christmas tree!  You could spend hours here, stopping only to eat at one of the quick and easy food areas. On the way out, shop for anything and everything related to model railways from books, though model trains to children’s train engineer outfits. Christmas ideas galore.
